Thank you for understanding—due to limited funding, we are only taking in based on situation at this time. We’re working hard to secure resources.
At Sage’s Haven Animal Resource Krew (HARK), we understand how concerning it can be to find a stray animal. Many lost pets are frightened, injured, or simply far from home. Our goal is to help reunite pets with their families whenever possible and ensure they receive the care they need.
If you’ve found a stray, we’re here to help guide you through the next steps.
Many stray animals are actually lost pets, and there are several steps that can help reunite them with their owners quickly.
If it’s safe to do so, we recommend:
Check for Identification
Look for a collar, tags, or any visible ID that may provide contact information for the owner.
Ask Around the Neighborhood
Knock on nearby doors or ask neighbors if they recognize the animal. Pets often stay close to home.
Post Locally
Share a photo and location where the animal was found on local community pages, neighborhood apps, and lost pet groups.
Provide Temporary Safety
If you are able, offering temporary shelter, food, and water can help keep the animal safe while searching for their owner.
If the animal appears injured, aggressive, or in immediate danger, please contact us or local animal control for assistance.
If you cannot locate the owner or safely care for the animal, Sage’s HARK can help ensure the animal receives proper care.
Submit a Stray Found Form
Please complete our form with as much detail as possible about the animal and where they were found:

Stray Hold Period
Animals brought into our care are held for 10 days to allow time for owners to locate their lost pets.
Assessment and Care
During this time, our team will evaluate the animal’s health and temperament while providing food, shelter, and medical care if needed.
Next Steps
If the owner is not located during the hold period, the animal will be evaluated for placement in foster care, transfer to a partner organization, or preparation for adoption.
Reuniting Families Is the Priority
Our first goal is always to reconnect lost pets with their owners whenever possible.
Community Support Matters
Many reunions happen because caring community members take the time to check locally before bringing an animal to a shelter.
Partnership Network
If we cannot house the animal directly, we work closely with trusted rescue partners to ensure they receive safe placement and care.
