We believe every animal deserves a loving, secure home. Whether you're interested in fostering or adopting, you’re helping us rewrite the stories of overlooked shelter animals.

Why Foster?

Fostering provides animals with a safe, loving environment while they prepare for their forever homes. As a foster parent, you:

• Offer temporary care for an animal in need.
  
  

• Help them develop trust, learn social skills, and adjust to home life.
  
  

• Gain the joy of knowing you’re giving them their best chance at adoption.
  
  

Fostering can be as short as a weekend or as long as a few months, depending on the animal's needs.

Adopting from Sage’s HARK means giving a second chance to an animal that might otherwise be overlooked. Our animals receive the training, socialization, and care they need to become wonderful companions. When you adopt from us, you’re not just welcoming a pet—you’re gaining a lifelong friend.

Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule

Whether you're fostering or adopting, adjusting to a new environment takes time. That’s why we educate and support our families with the 3-3-3 Rule:

• 3 Days to decompress – your new dog may be overwhelmed or shut down.
  
  

• 3 Weeks to settle in – they start learning routines and showing their personality.
  
  

• 3 Months to feel at home – a bond forms, and real trust begins.
  
  

This timeline isn’t exact for every dog, but it offers a compassionate guideline to help set realistic expectations during your journey together.

For Fostering:

• Meet Your Match: We’ll pair you with an animal that suits your home and lifestyle.
  
  

• Welcome Home: Bring them home and begin their journey of love and care.
  
  

For Adoption:

• Browse Our Animals: Visit our website or meet them in person at one of our events.
  
  

• Application and Interview: Share your story, so we can find the perfect match.
  
  

• Home Sweet Home: Finalize the adoption and welcome your new family member.
