Chasity L. Spitznogle is the heart behind Sage’s HARK, a rescue built on passion, experience, and a deep understanding of the challenges long-term shelter animals face. Her journey into animal welfare began in childhood, helping her grandmother catch and care for feral cats to ensure they were spayed, neutered, and given a chance at a better life. This early experience instilled a lifelong commitment to animal well-being and fueled her determination to make a real impact.
As a mother of four and a devoted pet owner, Chasity knows firsthand how deeply animals enrich our lives. Over the years, she’s seen the heartbreaking reality of dogs who spend months—or even years—waiting for a home simply because they need extra training, have medical needs, or belong to misunderstood breeds. Instead of seeing these animals as unadoptable, she saw potential, leading her to create Sage’s HARK.
Her mission is clear: to give these overlooked dogs the support they need to thrive. By providing training, rehabilitation, and a structured Foster to Adopt program, she ensures they have the best possible chance at a forever home. She’s also deeply passionate about the connection between animals and mental health, working toward partnerships that will train therapy dogs and provide affordable emotional support and service animals to those in need.
Beyond her work, Chasity enjoys a wide variety of creative outlets, from music and reading to art. She thrives on new experiences, whether it’s learning more about animal behavior, exploring different artistic styles, or simply enjoying the company of her family and dogs. Every step of her journey—both personal and professional—is rooted in compassion, resilience, and a belief that every animal deserves a chance to be loved.
